Terra Lightfoot - “Someone Else’s Feelings”

The latest single from Terra Lightfoot, entitled “Someone Else's Feelings,” captures the spirit of a stunning, indie-rock anthem. Full of gritty guitar rhythms. you cannot help but be captivated by this number.

The song begins with a gorgeous, chugging electric guitar groove that has a wonderfully gritty edge. The groove forms the backbone for the song and is gently enhanced by warm acoustic guitar that provides a great deal of layers and depth. The groove is elegantly dynamic, gaining a satisfying intensity over the main chorus sections. “Someone Else's Feelings” is propelled forward by a purposeful drum groove that sets a solid, staggering pulse. The bass throbs underneath, creating a solid foundation and enhancing the song’s melody. Shaker and hand claps subtly add to the vibrant swagger of this track.

The track really shines due to the vocal performance– Lightfoot’s voice is dynamic, compelling, and passionate. This is enhanced by the rich layers of backing and vocal doubling throughout the track, ultimately turning the entire performance into an anthem. Lyrically, the song explores the difficulties of human connections and communication and how we have the tendency to internalize the thoughts and sentiments of others, frequently at the price of our own feelings.

Someone Else's Feelings” is definitely a beast of an anthem. The guitar rhythm is simply exquisite and has a lush familiarity about it. The highlight, though, is the stunning vocal performance.

Someone Else's Feelings” is the second single from Terra Lightfoot’s forthcoming record, Healing Power, which is due for release in October. And if you’re into vinyl, you can pre-order it here.
