Signe Vange - “Canada”

Danish singer-songwriter Signe Vange has just released the ambient-tinged chamber pop track, “Canada.” The song is filled with lush, dreamy, and otherworldly layers.

Canada” is built around the warm key tones of an instrument that sounds like a harmonium. This sustaining, mellow pad infuses the composition with a feeling of rich, dreamy nostalgia. As the track progresses, more tranquil, ambient textures are added. Brighter keys are allowed to breezily float over the top, and a delicate layer of fingerpicked acoustic guitar provides a contemplative texture as the notes melodically ascend and descend.

The track is punctuated thoughtfully by touches of subtle percussion and soothing bass. These elements perfectly complement the ambient tapestry of the track, acting only as support, rather than driving layers. The vocals on “Canada” are beautifully intimate and tender. The melodic delivery is strikingly enhanced by the layers of backing vocals that give a harmonic depth and complexity. The whole performance evokes a sense of serenity that is reminiscent of artists like Grimes or Enya.

Canada,” by Signe Vange, is a wonderfully immersive and inviting track. The song is the second single taken from her upcoming EP, Dinosaur.
