Samuel Blaney - “Paradise”

From Ireland, singer-songwriter Samuel Blaney has just released the wonderfully intimate splendor of “Paradise.”

The track opens with a warm acoustic guitar, gently plucked to an introspective perfection. Blaney’s soft and breathy vocal soon appears, instantly enchanting all who hear with his marvelous, emotive delivery. Straight out of the gate, “Paradise” embodies everything we’ve come to know and love with the genre of indie folk, beholding a performance that is very up-close and personal– as though Blaney is providing us with our own, private performance.

Rich, deep notes from a bass add a great sense of depth and careful listeners shall be able to hear the distant sounds of what appears to be a second acoustic guitar, panned left, wonderfully adding some ambience as it helps to fill the sonic space. Percussive elements break the surface via some delicate taps on the side of a guitar, leaving the entire track saturated with an organic beauty.

Along the back half of “Paradise,” you fill find some elegantly placed swells of reverberating electric guitar, which complement the overall acoustic nature of the arrangement. All of the sounds ungulate and breathe together, reaching a tremendous crescendo before drawing back into the initial, intimate nature of the production.

If you’re looking for music that will help to wash away all the perils that come with being human, we highly recommend the sounds of Samuel Blaney. And after losing yourself in “Paradise,” be sure to check out his previous single, “Ember,” released back in July. This track beholds a performance so raw that you will swear you’re in the studio as it’s being recorded. Highlights for us, of course, are the layers of vocals that sweep into the arrangement, one of the most heavenly ingredients to any song of the folk variety. You will also be greeted by waves of slightly distorted guitar, adding an ebb and flow to “Ember” that will greatly aid you in your escape from all worldly tribulations.

Upon listening to these two offerings from Samuel Blaney, we highly anticipate his future releases and hope that they follow this same, raw and emotional formula.
