Please take a moment to emotionally prepare yourselves for the latest tune from Berlin-based i shiver, entitled “Running Low On Things To Love,” which, to be quite honest, began resonating with us as soon as we saw the title.

Much to our delight, this one hits us in all of the appropriate spots. In its swift runtime of two minutes and eighteen seconds, your ears shall be filled with a gloriously atmospheric arrangement. Once it quickly fades in with the remnants of a synth, the song turns its focus to a vibrantly plucked acoustic guitar. The vocals are next to appear, flawlessly delivered as i shiver takes into consideration the changes and loss that are often responsible in shaping our lives.

The first half of “Running Low On Things To Love” maintains a reasonably sparse arrangement, with moments of ambient synth and ethereal backing vocals lining the production. The final third, however, introduces a more aggressive, chugging approach to the guitar, raising a sense of urgency, as well as offering the ears a sweet shift in dynamics. The mood soon reverts back to its more dreamlike vibe and we cannot help but draw comparisons to Novo Amor and Bon Iver, two of our absolute favorites.

Running Low On Things To Love” is the kind of song that you hear and already know that it’s destined for sync deals. It has also been recorded and produced so well that it is bound to make you go digging through i shiver’s back catalogue, while simultaneously awaiting all future releases.
