Racyne Parker - “Make It Out Alive”

Denver-based Racyne Parker has just released the gorgeous Americana song, “Make It Out Alive,” a track that explores feelings of change with lush, contemplative textures and soulful vocals.

The song begins with longing lap steel guitar, gently howling sweet tones. The instrument gorgeously rises and falls throughout the track, heightening feelings of introspection. Acoustic guitar establishes a stripped-back, mellow rhythmic movement. Low bass tones pad the song with sustained tones, as the drums set a slow, yet soothing forward motion.

Melodic whistling takes the focus over these elements, at first giving a distinctive whimsical and ethereal quality to the track. The whistling acts as a really great hook, weaving its dreamy atmospheric ambiance in all the right places. As the song develops, electric guitar complements the lap steel as delicate touches of cello offer as sense of refinement and a banjo enhances the song’s groove.

Make It Out Alive” grows magnificently over the choruses, creating an ebb and flow that heightens the emotional impact of the arrangement. The vocals of Racyne are a standout feature of the song– they are meditative, expressive, and thoughtful. Backing vocals provide depth and richness as they breezily swell underneath the lead vocal.

The song’s well written lyrics explore facing one’s demons, finding resolution and solace. This is a tale about change and development, of letting go of resentment and the person you had to be in order to become the person you were always meant to be. Racyne Parker’s “Make It Out Alive” is simply a gorgeous track, filled with lush instrumentation and soul stirring vocals.
