Pine Barons - “Electric Fingertips”

Hailing from the USA, Pine Barons have just released the mesmerising “Electric Fingertips.” This indie pop / rock song has a psychedelic vibe to it, drawing comparisons to Radiohead as well as The Chemical Brothers. The track can only be described as a colourful, sonic journey, full of weaving electronic layers.

Electric Fingertips” is built around rich, arpeggiating synths that flesh out immersive melodies. Underneath, ethereal synth pads begin to emerge, giving the track a dreamy quality. The song is propelled forward by complex electronic percussive rhythms, whilst an addictively good bass line provides a solid and warm foundation.

As the track progresses, subtle bright guitar is added, enhancing the weaving yet meditative vibes. These sonic textures constantly shift and evolve, creating an ebb and flow in colourful intricacy. At the heart of this experimental intensity is an exquisitely engaging, chilled atmosphere.

The vocal feels effortless and a home on this song. It is expressive, gentle and rich in tone as it breezily reaches falsetto notes. In areas the vocal is pushed heavily into reverb creating a rich sense of depth and space heightening the immersive nature of the music.

Lead singer KC Abrams explains the meaning behind the song: “Electric Fingertips” touches on feeling something you thought you were incapable of feeling, and wanting it to last forever, like a dream you don't want to wake up from. I like songs that feel like a journey, disregarding conventional structures, letting the song go where it wants to go. In a way, songs will sort of write themselves when they come out as naturally as that, which is precisely what happened with “Electric Fingertips.””

Electric Fingertips” by Pine Barons is a spellbinding sonic journey, plush with shifting layers and expressive vocals.
