Inkfields - “Moroccan Blue”

Inkfields‘ new song, “Moroccan Blue,” is a beautiful display of a well-crafted indie rock tune.

A mellow, laid-back drum beat introduces the song and establishes the tone. There is a really nice phasing effect on the drums, lending a touch of psychedelia to the sound. Following the drums are some incredibly mesmerising guitar riffs that grow and arpeggiate as they roll over the beat in a breathtakingly beautiful way.

The song has a simple, unprocessed, and gritty feel, thanks to the rhythm guitar, which effortlessly chugs out the notes. The dirty bass provides the tune with a strong foundation while layers are added during the song’s progression. “Moroccan Blue” is filled with some very awesome indie rock guitar riffs that give the music depth and substance. The drums receive a beautiful layer of reverb over its main sections, providing a large, spacious feel.

The vocal is really stunning and the use of vocal reverb gives it a dreamy quality. A beautiful touch is the harmonisation with the female vocal that supports from the second verse. Lyrically, the song was inspired by desire to escape from contemporary realities. The fluidity and relaxing qualities of the ocean also served as inspiration.

Inkfields’ “Moroccan Blue” is a stunningly beautiful track that is incredibly well produced. It is taken from the new album, The Third Side of the Coin, which is out now.
