Lorenzo & Co - ‘When We Meet’

Lorenzo & Co have a brand spanking new LP called When We Meet that’s chock-full of catchy tunes that have a nostalgic sweetness. When I say that it has a ‘90s vibe, I mean it in the best way. Don’t think ‘grunge’– these are well-mannered tunes that will keep you smiling while you’re waiting for your older sister to get off the phone so you can dial in to AOL. Wait, sorry. I might be having a flashback!

Look, this band is tight, sounds great, and writes good songs. As I listen, I realize the only thing missing is a party with my closest friends and bigger speakers. I would point out highlights, but this album doesn’t have any laggards. Lest I get accused of not doing a proper review, suffice it to say the ending of “Passerby” is extra sweet, the falsetto in “You’re Invited” is just right, and the overall blend of grooving, jangling, and singing throughout the entirety LP is quite satisfying.
