Lilli Joon - “when you know”

If falling in love came with a soundtrack, we like to think that it would be something like “when you know,” the latest single from Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Lilli Joon.

And if you only learn one thing from our blog, please let it be that we will drop everything in order to catch an earful of analogue recording in all of its warm and intimate glory. It is here that you shall find “when you know,” a tune that Lilli Joon penned with her bandmate and fiancé, Corey Leiter, who sat across from her as they delivered it all into a microphone.

The track is quite sparse, consisting primarily of a delicately plucked acoustic guitar, the soft notes of some keys, and the reverberating tones from what appears to be a lap steel.
