King Dream - “Golden Shore”

California-based King Dream has just slipped us some fantastically luxuriant indie psychedelia in the form of a new single: “Golden Shore.”

Led by songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jeremy Lyon, this tune immediately grabs ahold of you via its lo-fi beat and melodic guitar work. A bass is present to offer some deep and steady bottom end, and listeners have no choice but to be instantly and completely swept away by the track’s exquisitely retro-infused soundscape.

Lyon utilizes a falsetto for the majority of the song, firmly establishing its position in our niche for the genre. “Golden Shore” provides us with some slight, early-aughts Beck vibes and we truly cannot get it shoved into our ears deep enough. Layers of glorious backing vocals usher in at the most opportune of times, merely providing an additional reason to play this jaunt in a continuous loop.

Soft keys populate the brief spaces left in the arrangement, with the occasional highlight from a joyful horn section as guitar and organ take turns in the pole position– if you cannot find something to love here, there is literally no hope for you. The track is a smooth and sexy beast of a modern psychedelic tune and it is simply begging for you to show it off to your friends.

Golden Shore” is a wonderful peek into the world of King Dream, and we encourage you to take the rest of the LP, Glory Daze V, for a spin– now available everywhere.
