Isabella Rosetta - “505”

Isabella Rosetta blends sumptuous vocals with a sound that has a bit of a vinyl warmth with her new song “505.” She says that this is the first song she ever wrote, but don’t let that scare you– there is a real maturity to the way this is put together. The magnificently meandering melody works perfectly with the stream of consciousness lyrics: “You say we’re not broken, but I think we needed fixing.”

The song strolls along wonderfully and then opens up just after two minutes, making way for a bridge that charges straight into your ears with a gritty conviction. And then it’s back to what might be a chorus that is alluring, without having that repetitive catchiness that plagues so many pop songs. This one is all feel and it feels good. And when the end comes, you are satisfied, but you want more, so you hit play again and go for another ride.
