I Shiver - “Quiet Place”

Berlin-based I Shiver is back on the blog with “Quiet Place,” a song that journeys through the process of rediscovering yourself after spending too much time living for others.

By now, it should be quite clear that we are fans of I Shiver’s sound, as it is not uncommon to see his music lining the pages of our site. Much of the reason for this can be found within “Quiet Place,” as it is a mellifluous two-and-a-half-minute guide to self-love.

No time is wasted here, as I Shiver begins his vocal performance with the first wide and resounding guitar chord. The production is dripping wet with reverb, and it falls right within our niche of dreamy, melancholic, and cinematically-polished folk music.

The arrangement consists primarily of electric guitar, layers of vocals, and various, ethereal elements, all of which coalesce in a marvelous cocoon that protects the metamorphosis of human emotion. The resulting sound is a glorious celebration of self-discovery and catharsis.

A major highlight here, as with all of I Shiver’s music, is the vocal performance, as it is quite easy to get lost in the emotional cadence of his impeccable delivery. Fans of Hazlett, Novo Amor, or earlier Bon Iver will find that “Quiet Place” contains a similar musical magic and we encourage you to press play immediately.
