Harrison Storm - “In Good Time”

Australia-based Harrison Storm makes his debut on our blog with the delightfully charming and folksy sound of “In Good Time,” a track about “forgiving the past and running into the future.”

The song opens with a focus on some gently plucked acoustic guitar, soon accompanied by another that offers a bit of melody– or, for all we know, Storm might be playing both of them at the same time (we’ve learned to never underestimate the talented indie folksters that comes out of Australia).

Storm has been blessed with a voice that will warm you up like a campfire. It’s honest and raw and sounds as though it has been carefully honed for years– every word comes out perfectly and deliberately and you cannot help but become entranced when you hear it. And if you’re keen on songs that conjure introspection, you have come to the right place.

In lieu of a chorus, “In Good Time” still has quite the hook. It is comprised of joyful “oooohs,” all carefully placed in a sort celebration in forgiving who you were in order to embrace who you were meant to be. And if you’ve been paying attention to any of our blog posts, you’ll recall that we simply cannot resist songwriters who effectively utilize “oooohs.”

For most of the song’s duration, it is predominantly guitar and vocals, but patience will reward you some percussive elements as the song reaches its crescendo. And it is here where Storm showcases his remarkable upper register. “In Good Time” is a fantastic choice for introspective listeners and will surely inspire a deep dive into Storm’s past catalogue, as well as anticipation for his future releases.
