If you’re anything like us, you know that nothing beats an intimate live performance that prevents the artist from hiding behind any production trickery. So when we received this video of emie nathan flawlessly performing “deep down,” we knew that we had to get it out to you.
The entire thing is shot quite simply, with a single camera, but the performance is completely impeccable. emie nathan nails every syllable, with nary a hint of imperfection, and the viewer/listener gets the impression that all she needed was the one take, because the talent here is boundless. With keys provided by Dan Diggas and background vocals from Jonathan Oy, Alicia Saddler, and Debby Bracknell, this version of “deep down” is simply a pleasure to witness:
