Elsdeer - “River River”

Germany-based Elsdeer return to the blog with the magnificent chamber pop track “River River.”

River River” is propelled forward by a tight, energetic percussive groove filled with punchy kicks and snappy snares. The rhythm is compellingly dynamic with lush variations and accents, making the track highly engaging as it enters your ears. This groove also imbues the track in an almost danceable, psychedelic atmosphere reminiscent of acts like The Chemical Brothers if they were pulled in the direction of chamber pop. The rich bass line also helps to wonderfully accentuate this vibe.

Weaving in between the grooves are the mellow tones of acoustic guitar and elegant layers of strings. The sounds are rousing, soothing, and sophisticated. But it is the incredible vocal that makes this song so special. The breathy and melodic performance dreamily and effortlessly guides you through the composition. Listeners will find it impossible not to get lost in the beautiful tones that have been wonderfully filled with emotion. Equally immersive are the lyrics, which vivid, reflective, and joyfully poetic.

River River” is taken from Elsdeer’s debut album, Namara, which now available everywhere. I will definitely be listening to what is guaranteed to be a superb collection of songs.
