If you often find yourself longing for some of that late-‘60s soul, let us introduce you Tulsa-based artist Casii Stephan and her brand new single, “Can’t Handle Me.”

As soon as you press play, your ears shall be filled with the classic, staccato bursts of horns nailing down the foundation of the track in conjunction with the rhythm section. Like the soul singers of yesteryear, Stephan emerges with her emotional and expressive vocal performance as the full band kicks into a double-time groove.

Can’t Handle Me” will instantly have you feeling nostalgic for a time when real music was cooked in smoky studios on analog outboard gear. This is one of those rare occasions where indie pop is directly correlated to vintage pizzazz and retro flair. The result is a refreshing sound that is infectious and evocative and we suddenly want an entire album of it.

The song is chuck-full of dynamic twists and turns– one minute, the band is rocking out with a full throttle; the next thing you know, you’re in the midst of a brief spotlight on a lone piano. “Can’t Handle Me” was designed to keep listeners engaged and we hope that it ignites a wave of artists recording more of these tasty throwback gems.

This track comes complete with scat vocals that coalesce with the horn section, as well as backing vocals that will have you wishing you had been born a few decades earlier. Whatever genre you typically fancy, make some room in your day to get Casii Stephan’s “Can’t Handle Me” into your earholes.
