Bridget Rian - “Milk”

We last featured Bridget Rian back in October, when she gave us “Why did U Lie,” but we are pleased to invite her back today with the release of her new single, “Milk.”

The song begins with a very soothing riff from a clean electric guitar, but it’s not long before the rhythm section joins, adding a delightful foundation that carries the song along its way. The vibe is simultaneously reminiscent of ‘90s-era rock and the modern sounds of acts like boygenius. And once Bridget’s voice appears, it will appeal to fans of Liz Phair, as well as those who fancy the folksiness of Phoebe Bridgers– she has been blessed with a vocal that sounds like home, no matter where you’re from, and we’re confident that anyone who presses play will feel the same.

As you should all know by now, we are big fans of songs that promote introspection, rather than dillydallying with the topical, so we are pleased to inform you that “Milk” explores some uniquely profound ideas. Through its lyrics, Bridget explores the twists and turns of love and “how our experiences and upbringings shape our perspectives on this complex emotion. Despite the differing viewpoints of the two protagonists in the song, the track ultimately seeks to convey that true love is simple and drama-free.”

Milk” is a gentle and soothing jaunt and while it attempts to explain the complexities of our emotions, you will also find it perfectly capable of helping you escape from your worries as you drive down the highway with the speakers cranked. The harmonies on the refrain will have you singing along in no time and you would be hard-pressed to find a better song to ease you into your weekend.
