Norwegian artist Emilie Østebø, aka Bo Milli, once again appears on our blog with her distinct brand of indie music. Her latest single, “I’m In,” marks her third feature on our site, though we are quite certain there will be many more.

I’m In” begins with a lo-fi beat and bass line that will immediately cause anyone within earshot to take pause, and the fact that Bo Milli doesn’t make you wait for her vocal performance will only amplify your listening pleasure. For ambience, there is a distant tone from a synth that saturates the soundscape, with vocal harmonies that rise to the surface, resulting in a superbly crafted dream-pop production.

But if we’ve learned anything about Bo Milli, it’s that there is bound to be a guitar-driven elevation on the refrain– and there is… And it is magnificent. The drums get more aggressive and the overdrive gets cranked to ten as Bo Milli takes advantage of a more angst-ridden vocal delivery. All of this is followed by a tastefully utilized guitar lead, before retreating back into the the song’s initial dreamy vibe.

I’m In” is the kind of song that you can blast in your car as a means to boost your confidence before quitting your job, or it can be served to a group of friends on any number of social occasions. Most importantly, it’s the kind of song that will completely slay when delivered from a stage, so keep an eye on Bo Milli’s Instagram for any upcoming live performances.
