Bittersweethearts - “Hate to Love”

From Los Angeles, indie-rockers Bittersweethearts present their seductive and sultry debut track, “Hate to Love.” Zoe Infante and Declan O'Raidy co-wrote the song, which was recorded at the famed Strawhorse Studios in California under the direction of Thomas Ross Johansen (Wheatus, Snoop Dogg, Walter Trout, Bruno Mars).

“‘Hate To Love’ is about being stuck in a toxic relationship that you can’t find a way out of, all the while being unsure you even want to find a way out,” states the alluring front woman Zoe with her enchanting vocals. “Declan got food poisoning the second day of recording and took a trip to the hospital, so it’s about getting through a moment. It was still so fun!”

The vocal is soft, measured, and sweet like honey. Crying guitar tones swell and contrast the dreamy vocal delivery and warm acoustic guitar. The bass and drums are smooth, like a dream on a warm summer’s day. The song’s video of a crying bride in the desert really adds to the dynamic, which I have to admit to playing on repeat a few times. I am a fan!
