“Charioteer” - B of Briz

B of Briz is an artist from Bristol who, in her own words, “makes weird ass feminist rap.” Her rap vocals are sleek and polished with a decidedly English accent. Her new song, “Charioteer,” flows with awesome lyrical content, beautifully constructed, with impeccably timed phrasing.

This is not a copycat rapper who is chasing after the social commentary lyrics of the likes of a Jamie T, but rather reading like a chapter of Homer’s The Odyssey. The language is measured, eloquent, and beautiful.

The musical backing to this story is a pumping drum line, slowly pushing along this song to a waltzing piano riff, mechanical noises, and synth-esque vocal noises.

B of Briz is a deeply passionate and talented young artist and I strongly recommend taking the time to listen.
