Meltt - “Another Quiet Sunday (Keep Moving On)”

Another Quiet Sunday (Keep Moving On)” by Canadian-based band Meltt is a beautiful, ethereal psych track that will transport you to another world. The song is full of light breezy vocals and reverberated backing vocals that create a sense of space. Uplifting and clean guitar tones continually riff throughout the song, adding to the melody. As the song progresses, the use of delay and guitar effects become more present. The song becomes a swirling soundscape that holds a calm peace. Outbursts of energy with heavier guitar tones add a sense of intensity, which relates perfectly to the lyrics.

The band have deliberately made the lyrics vague, allowing the listener to interpret them in their own way. The song is based on the experience of death, but we are allowed to interpret if it is being expressed by the person dying or by someone who is there to say goodbye. The song is infused with the idea that we are all in transition and will eventually reunite with each other in some form. This brings a comforting message, which perfectly marries with the song’s arrangement. “Another Quiet Sunday (Keep Moving On)” is a beautiful piece of music that has a nice, relaxed feel with modern psychedelic tones and without being too out there.

This is the title track from the band’s new EP, which you can get here: Another Quiet Sunday.
