BRIDEY - “7-Eleven”

From Los Angeles, California, Bridey is here with “7-Eleven,” a track about the loneliness that comes along with moving to a new town.

This song was pitched to us as indie pop, but it has more gusto than many of the rock joints that we’ve heard lately. After the first strums of guitar, “7-Eleven” begins rather abruptly and quite forcibly, immediately apparent that this is the kind of song fashioned for a summer drive down city streets, with all the windows rolled down. With just the right amount of dirt on the guitar as it riffs across the top of a rhythm comprised primarily of tom toms, this sweet, little beast of a single is bound to get your blood pumping. And Bridey’s vocals are delivered with such a razor-sharp confidence that we have no doubt she was born to perform. Even the harmonies are placed with precision, and the entire production causes us to recall the songs that would vibrate the outside of the venue while waiting in line to enter. So don’t sleep on this one, people– add it to your summer playlist ASAP.

7-Eleven” is the second single from Bridey’s upcoming EP, Arena Rock Appetizer, due out on June 23, via Anxiety Blanket Records.

Bridey adds: “I was feeling lonely and shy having moved to a new city, and was thinking about ways I could make my environment feel more comfortable. I had kind of a funny and familiar dance with a 7-Eleven store clerk, and I was reminded that the whole experience from entering to exiting is, in most scenarios, so consistently comforting.”
