Netherlands-based fuis have just released the mesmerizingly experimental dream pop track, “Norway.”

Norway” is built upon a wide array of synth layers that pulse vividly, creating an otherworldly feel whilst imbuing a steady sense of urgency. The pulses are simple, but when coupled with the other layers, an intricate and atmospheric sonic landscape is created.

Pushing this layered rhythmic pattern forward is the slow pulse of drums. The percussion and bass place a satisfying emphasis on the down beat, prompting a shuffling, rhythmic swagger when coupled with the snare. The musical layers are truly enjoyable to hear, especially as they all pull together rhythmically at the crescendo.

It is the vocals that really set “Norway“ alight. The performance is delivered with a rhythmic cadence which strikingly enhances the groove, while also adding a pleasing sense of dynamic variation. In the dynamic break, the vocal becomes surrounded by immersive and soulful layered harmonies. The vibe here is reminiscent of the second half of Grimes’s album Visions.

Lyrically, the track is inspired by “the serene landscapes of Norway, serving as a powerful reminder of the importance of letting go and to preserve cherished memories.” “Norway” by fuis is a truly spellbinding track that would make the perfect addition to any dream pop lover’s playlist… All you need to do is press play.
