Bear With Me - “Falling”

Copenhagen, Denmark-based Bear With Me has just released the immersive and dreamy new indie rock track, “Falling.”

This is a truly atmospheric track that draws on a variety of genres, from psychedelia, shoegaze, and rock, incorporating little elements from each to create something contemplative, otherworldly, and wonderfully introspective. The vibe feels comparable to the John Leckie-produced era of The Verve, especially songs like “A Man Called Sun” or “Feel.”

Musically, the track is constructed with delightfully captivating layers that linger and dreamily drift. The guitar work is wonderfully understated for the majority of the track, serving as a soothing, reverb-drenched mood enhancer, slowly cascading dreamy chords across the arrangement. As we approach the middle of the track, flourishes of effects-driven guitar work echo psychedelically, lending a lush, innovative dimension.

Further enhancing the mood are shimmering synth layers and the intimate, earthy tones of acoustic guitar. Subtly pushing the track forward are the chilled percussive tones of the drums and the melodically hypnotic bass. “Falling” really is a well composed masterpiece.

The vocal performance, like the guitars, is wonderfully gentle and understated. It soothingly and intimately leads us through the music with lush, elongated tones. Just like the music, the tones permeate soothingly. “Falling” is an ethereal, hypnotic journey brimmed full of dreamy melodies and psychedelic embellishments. The track serves as a taster of Bear With Me’s forthcoming third EP, which will be released later this year.
